Born in Madrid and graduated in Image Sciences from the Complutense University, Gabe Ibáñez began his professional career working as a geometer and post-production supervisor. Since 2000 he has developed his career in different countries as an advertising director, with his work receiving awards at the main festivals in the world. In 2001 he founded the design and post-production company USER T38, with which since then he has visually developed his film projects.
In 2007 he won the Special Jury Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand festival with his short film “MÁQUINA”. In 2009 he premiered “HIERRO” at the Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2014 he directed and wrote “Autómata”, a film starring Antonio Banderas, which competed for the Golden Shell at the San Sebastián festival.
On television, he has worked on “EL MINISTERIO DEL TIEMPO” (TVE) and as main director and designer of the first season of EXPRESS (LIONSGATE) and the miniseries “EL SILENCIO” (NETFLIX). The later was number one on the platform among non-English television series and number two in the NETFLIX world ranking, accessing the GLOBAL TOP 10 TV in 81 countries.
